Richelle Ricard

Richelle Ricard

Richelle has been a healer and educator for 17 years. She discovered yoga as a teenager, but really found her Practice in 2004. Through the guidance of an amazing group of teachers, she was able to recognize her own passion for teaching and pursued teacher-training on many levels.

Her training and experience in sports medicine, massage therapy and holistic wellness has led her yoga teaching to become a search for the middle ground. Richell's yoga practice and philosophies are influenced by the writings of B.K.S. Iyengar, the practice of Pattabhi Jois and his students, and her own unending research into the inner workings of the human body-mind.

Her slow-flowing classes emphasize safe alignment, build awareness through active engagement, and focus on the breath as the anchor of the practice. Richelle knows that our lives are influenced by the patterns, moods, stresses and personalities around us. She hopes to offer quiet order to your chaotic life through the tools offered by your own practice of Yoga.

Heavenly Hips: Insights Toward Balancing Length and Strength

The hips take a mighty beating in our everyday lives. Our yoga practice isn't always so nice to them either. By looking at how the hips are built, Richelle will offer insight to the true range of motion of these remarkable joints. Want to know how the hips affect the health of the knees? The low back? She'll cover that too!

In this workshop we'll explore sensation and limitation through subtle movement, and then move through slow flowing asana to compare and contrast our opening with our stabilizing actions. Find new awareness to support your entire practice from this bodily center.

Engage, release, realign. Find your center.
